Main Stage Musical
Children of Eden is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, a well-known musical theatre lyricist and composer best known for writing hit musicals Godspell, Pippin, and Wicked.
This heartfelt show, based on the Book of Genesis, explores age-old conflict between parents and children. The inspiring and timeless story celebrates the difficulty of choice, the importance of passion, the value of questioning, and the pain in allowing those you love to take risks and face consequences.
The cast includes well-known Biblical characters led by Father and a chorus of storytellers that reveal the tale’s beginnings and endings in joyous and haunting fashion. In the end, this musical offers a frank, tuneful, charming, and often humorous look at the trials and tribulations of parenting.

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical KIDS, a fantastical musical.
Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, our narrator, the Cat in the Hat, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton's challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community emerge triumphant!
Seussical KIDS is great fun for the whole family. Young performers will be excited to portray the characters from the popular Dr. Seuss books.

In 2022, Acting Workshop for Children participants learned The Music Man and performed at the Lemont High School PAC.
In 2021, the kids clicked their heels three times and learned Wizard of Oz Jr, performing outdoors at The Forge. There was no workshop in 2020. In 2019 Peter Pan Junior had the young actors flying over the stage and in 2018 The Lion King was a fun way to learn about the "circle of life," and in 2017 the kids made a big splash doing The Little Mermaid, Kids.
Thank you so much for putting on such a wonderful, joyful show! The whole Music Man cast did a great job. It was a hugely enjoyable afternoon.
“It was my first time at this theatre and first time seeing Barnum! What a fantastic production all around! Direction, set design, costumes—OMG! Costumes alone...hundreds of them. Such a fantastic cast and creative team! I will be back!”
